Dermapen 4
BareWolf performs Skin Needling using the professional Dermapen 4 microneedling system.
Dermapen 4 uses a sterile 16-needle cartridge and Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needle technology to create precise vertical microchannels. The device can produce up to 1,920 microchannels per second, with the treatment depth adjusted by the therapist according to the area, concern and skin assessment.
Adjustable depth allows the therapist to work more conservatively on sensitive areas and use an appropriate protocol when treating more established texture or scarring.
How Skin Needling Works
The controlled microchannels created during treatment activate the skin’s natural wound-repair process. Over time, this may support:

Skin Needling may help soften the appearance of selected acne scars by encouraging gradual collagen remodelling.
Different scar types respond differently. Deep, tethered or complex scarring may require a combination approach or referral for another treatment. Your therapist will be honest about what Dermapen 4 can reasonably achieve.
YOUR TREATMENT
What Does It Feel Like?
The sensation varies according to the treatment depth, area and individual sensitivity.
Most clients describe pressure, vibration, scratching or warmth. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others. Your therapist will check your comfort throughout the treatment.
RECOVERY & DOWNTIME
Temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, tightness or mild swelling can occur after Skin Needling. The skin may resemble a mild-to-moderate sunburn initially.
Depending on treatment intensity and individual response, the skin may remain visibly red or sensitive for several days. Dryness or light flaking can also occur as it settles.
Your therapist will explain the expected recovery for your specific treatment before proceeding.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
- Avoid unnecessary sun exposure and arrive without sunburn.
- Tell us about medications.
- Supplements and recent medical changes.
- Tell us about recent cosmetic procedures or active skincare ingredients.
- Do not aggressively exfoliate or pick the treatment area beforehand.
- Follow any personalised preparation instructions provided by your therapist.
WHEN TREATMENT MAY NEED TO BE POSTPONED
Skin Needling may not be appropriate when the treatment area has:
- Active infection
- Open wounds or broken skin
- Active cold sores
- Significant irritation or inflammation
- Recent sunburn
- Certain active skin conditions
- Recent procedures that have not fully healed
Medications, medical conditions and a history of abnormal scarring must be disclosed during consultation. Do not stop prescribed medication without speaking to the healthcare professional who prescribed it.
